The Largest Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Practice in Quebec

2008 Francoeur Lectureship

The Division of Allergy and Immunology hosted it’s annual Francouer Lectureship on April 2, 2008. We had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Stuart Turvey of the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Turvey spoke on the topic of "From Rare to Severe Primary Immunodeficiencies to Common Subtle Immune Defects: Understanding the Role of Human Genetics in Susceptibility to Childhood Infections " at Pediatric grand rounds. He then spent the day discussing difficult cases with faculty and resident and fellow trainees, as well as projects related to the research into understanding immune deficiencies.

The Francoeur lectureship was established in 2004 by the Fondation Francouer, in order to provide high caliber teaching in Immunology and Immune Deficiency to the Pediatric community at large. Past Honorees include Dr. Alain Fischer of Hopitale Nekker in Paris (2004), Dr. Chaim Roifman of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto (2005), Dr. Helen Chapel of Oxford England (2006) and Dr. Erwin Gelfand of the national Jewish Medical and Research Center,   Denver CO (2007)
